Children’s orthodontics is about monitoring your child’s oral development. Intervening when issues arise, and providing corrective braces when necessary. Our orthodontist in Northborough, MA, uses Interceptive orthodontics to help guide your child’s oral development should the need arise. With interceptive orthodontics, your child may spend less time in braces later or forgo them altogether.

• Space Maintainers: Baby teeth hold space for your child’s adult teeth. When these first molars are lost too early, adult teeth may erupt incorrectly on the jaw due to tooth shifting. Fortunately, a space maintainer can hold the space until the adult tooth erupts.
• Palatal Expanders: Sometimes a child’s jaw is too narrow to hold a full arch of adult teeth in aligned positions. They end up with overcrowded, overlapping, and crooked teeth. Expanders gently widen the jaw over time to better accommodate adult teeth.

Invisalign® Clear Aligners

Invisalign is a system of clear aligners worn over the teeth. These aligners help move teeth into straighter positions over the treatment timeline, which can last several months or more than 2 years. Invisalign is ideal for older teens and adults.

Unlike traditional braces, you can remove Invisalign during meals, so there are no eating restrictions.
