Invisalign Treatment in Northborough, MA: The Step-by-Step Process
- Your Invisalign Consultation: The Invisalign consultation process is about getting to know you and your goals and determining whether Invisalign can help you reach them. We’ll answer your questions, talk about costs, and determine how long you’ll be in treatment.
- Scans and Aligner Fabrication: If you decide to move forward with treatment, we take scans, and Invisalign uses the results to fabricate your aligners. When your aligners arrive in our office, you come in for the custom aligner fitting process (or instructions on how to wear your aligners).
- Your Time in Invisalign: Finally, you enter the treatment phase and wear your aligners daily to shift your teeth into position slowly.
- The Retention Phase: After Invisalign treatment, we fit you with a custom aligner to prevent orthodontic relapse.
Tips for Successful Invisalign Treatment
- Wear your aligners according to your dentist’s schedule, changing them every one to two weeks.
- Wear your aligners for at least 22 hours daily, removing them only for meals and to clean your teeth.
- Store your aligners correctly, and don’t leave them on countertops or sink basins.
- Be sure to keep your teeth and gums clean to avoid complications.
- Clean your aligners as directed by your dentist.
You may notice mild discomfort when you change your aligners or first wear them, but this typically resolves on its own.
